Too Much Time On My Hands

So I've mentioned that I've been trying to take it easy.  I've crocheted afghans, but this time I tried out hats, something that I've never been able to do.  I had an ulterior motive...I wanted some hats to wear once my hair falls out.  I'm not doing the "shave the head before chemo" thing, because I want the full experience, however traumatic it might be.  I'm enjoying my hair right now, because I don't know how much time we have together, and I don't know when it will grow back or what it will look like when it does.  So...hats.
The great thing about crocheting is that if you make a mistake, you can always pull the yarn and start over.  I did just that many times while trying to figure out what I was doing, but I also had fun making things up as I went.  Some things worked, some did not, as flying without a pattern sometimes happens.  I have had fun, and that's all that counts.

But I think I might have gone a little crazy...

I did give two hats away. One to my nephew Tristan who is currently freezing on a soccer field in Lubbock, Texas.  And one to a friend/coworker.  The rest of these, the ones that I don't use, will be given away to various charities in the area, since the weather promises to be cold for at least the next month before climbing back into the hundred degree area.  It's my own way of paying it forward.

I welcome comments, but reserve the right to correct your spelling because I am OCD about it!
