100 Words: South

I like to drive south.

There aren't many people who would admit that the points on a compass can have an effect on their mood, but I'm not most people. Heading north makes me feel business-like, brisk and efficient.

Driving south just seems to unwind the tightness between my shoulder blades. It doesn't seem to matter that I'm only headed down the road a few miles. The tension slowly begins to uncoil, and I feel like I can let go a little.

And the fact that the beach is in a southerly direction? Doesn't have anything to do with that.

  1. Funny thing, I have to drive north (from Florida) to get south (to Tennessee). I do know what you mean about being in the South though. It's more of a feeling than a destination.

  2. I like to drive west. The land begins to roll. I'm just not a flatlander. If the beach was a little closer, south and east would be a new favorite.

  3. Really?!?! Now I have to go try this…maybe I shouldn't base results on anything that happens when Miss New Driver goes for her second drive as I don't think any direction would soothe me there!

  4. Driving anywhere dies it for me. I want to rent an R.V. and drive all over the country like the movie Lost in America minus losing the nest egg!
