Microstories: Slippery

Tick

A squalling newborn

Tock

I merely blinked

And the minutes have

Disintegrated,

Dust in my trembling hands.

The wind whisks all away

No matter how tightly I

Drip

Clench my fists around them.

Drop

When did my baby boy turn eight?

  2. Wait until you see what happens the next time you blink! (You may need tissues, but it will still be amazing and wonderful)

  3. I like how you break this up with the italicized words. And, boy, can I relate! My younger one just turned 18.

  4. Gosh they grow up too fast :( Mine will be 10 this year. God! Where did the time go? really!

  5. I love those sounds, how they stop the flow of the words but not the flow of time. :) This image of the clenched hands is so strong.
