Microstories: Sideshow

Come one, come all!

Enjoy!

The Stupendous Sideshow!

Be mesmerized

As they slice away

Piece
After
Piece

Of me.

And I'll never
Miss it,
They say,
As my brain
Grows foggy,
My hair
Falls out.

All in the name of good health.

What’s in it for me?

  2. Nice post but I'm sorry you're going through it. Is your treatment connected to a teaching hospital?

  3. This really hits home with me. I had breast cancer 16 years ago. I'd never felt healthier the day I was diagnosed. Then chemo almost killed me (literally). But here I am so it was worth it! Life is a pretty great "what's in it for me?" answer!

  8. I find this very deep. I can hear your anger in it because that was exactly how my mom in law felt during her battle with breast cancer.

  11. Ah cancer...so much to suffer through to get 'better'. Loved the way you have portrayed the experience. So touching and raw.
