Microstory: The Infinite Sky

The cowboys grew tired of riding the trails, sleeping on hard ground, underneath the infinite sky. Their insignificance terrified them.

Leaving horses, worn saddles, and tack, they walked away from the prairie, to wives, warm beds, and left the old life behind.

  2. Nice! "Their insignificance terrified them." I guess the choice was to be insignificant and uncomfortable, or insignificant in comfort.
