Microstories: Ice Age

The Sun God,

in arrogance,

etched his name

deep into

Earth's rocks and marrow.

He sought to woo her.

"Without my light,

my warmth,

you are nothing!"

he proclaimed.

Earth was unmoved;

her icy disdain

slowly erased

all evidence of his touch.

  1. I love the idea of this, and the personalities of sun and earth come through so well. I can see the earth turning her cold shoulder.

  3. This evokes a very specific time and feel. It plays out on a grand scale. Nicely done!

  5. Mother Earth will never bow to threats or bullying. You have illustrated this very well. She wins in the end and will do so again, I have no doubt.
    Great piece of writing.

  7. I am fearful of Mother Earth's wrath and coolness as well! I read through this twice to let its enormity absorb. This is fantastic!
