Random Fuzz

The countdown to spring break is on...T-minus four days and counting.  Well, really it will be three days for me, because I will be at a workshop on Friday learning more about cross-battery assessment and geeking out about norms and Glr, which is my favorite G.  To those unfamiliar with the big G, that is what is collectively known as "Global" smarts.   The big G is made up of lots of little 'g', each illustrating a portion of how the brain processes information.  I love learning about all the big G and little g, but then I am always fascinated by what the brain does.  It's one of the reasons that I do what I do.

So when you're driving down a busy stretch of road and you see this sign:
What is your first thought?  Yeah, that was mine, too.  Luckily, I was already near the office, or things could have become messy.  Bucee's is a truck stop/travel stop along the I-35 corridor, and I cannot even describe it properly to you.  It is one of those things that you just have to experience, and 83 toilets is just one aspect of their fabulousness.  They also have FOOD.

Larry and I have been faithfully glued to our television sets for The Walking Dead.  Daryl "insert scandalous nickname here" Dixon is my favorite, of course, but I also like to see how Rick Grimes is going to handle the next wave of trauma thrown at him.  I am not sure how many episodes are left for this season, but the number may present us with a dilemma, because our other favoritest show, Game of Thrones, comes on March 30.   I always feel bad when we DVR one show to watch another, like we are cheating or something.  Isn't that silly?  I can actually recall when there were no such things as DVRs or even VCRs, and if you missed a show, then you had to wait for the reruns.  Which could take weeks, because the networks controlled everything, and they were going for the ratings.   I hate waiting, so the DVR was made for someone like me.  We can go straight from zombies overwhelming a stronghold to...different zombies overwhelming a different stronghold. (Note:  I have not revealed any spoilers to either show at this point.  I don't want anyone showing up at my house to chastise me!)

This April is all about the alphabet!
Yep.  I'm doing it again.  A to Z.  I'm not sure how, but then again, I never am sure until I hit 'publish'.  This is a fun challenge--April 1st, you start off your blog with the letter A, and each day brings the next letter until you hit Z.  Sundays are days of rest, of course!  The best part of the challenge is that you get to find TONS of other blogs out there.  Big blogs, little blogs, funny blogs, serious blogs, recipe blogs, etc.  If you want to sign up, head over to this place and read the fine print.

During spring break, I will be visiting the dermatologist.  I have this thing growing on my neck, and it appears to be a tiny second head.  Not really, but it is bleeding profusely every time it accidentally gets hit or touched or thought about.  It's likely just some sort of random skin condition, but since one of the moles I had came back precancerous, I take all that stuff more seriously.  So the dermatologist and I will be visiting, and there will be cutting and scraping and perhaps some cauterizing.  I have asked Larry to come with me, since I don't know if I'll be able to drive after all that.  I could have made him stay with me to hold my hand, per our marriage contract, but I took pity on him.  He will remain in the waiting room, because he tends to faint at the sight of needles. The last thing I need is a 6'1" man falling on me when there's a scalpel near my neck.  That's one of those "Stories of the Weird" waiting to happen.

Okay, please go visit Stacy over at her place.

Stacy

Also, go check out these nice ladies as well.

  1. My Spring Break isn't really one: the students have off but staff have to work. And then my son has his the next week - of course. They couldn't line up.

  2. We currently don't have a DVR and really miss it. We have the cheapest cable package, Hulu and netflix currently take care of our needs. I am doing A-Z this year too, today I just learned how to add a signature to my comments thanks to a-z pointers.

  3. I wish Princess Nagger's school had spring break - but alas, they do not. No fair! :)

83 toilets/thrones and food? And you didn't stop because why? ;)

I DVR everything - we rarely watch any shows 'live' anymore, the preference is to watch in our timing, not the networks. Plus, I have so many favorites I'd never catch them all if it weren't for the DVR and Hulu. :) However did we survive with no technology?? :)

One of these days I should join the A-Z challenge - sounds like it could be challenging but fun! :)

Thanks for helping keep the random alive! :)

  4. 83 toilets, huh? But are any of them scenic? Good luck with your dermatologist appointment ...

I welcome comments, but reserve the right to correct your spelling because I am OCD about it!
