X for the Ex

X on a tree

Marks where

I Murdered the Ex.

Rubbed him out good.

Tried to leave me, that

Cold-blooded

Cold-hearted

Bastard.

Smashed his head

With his favorite hammer.

Then I laughed.

Not really sure about this one...it's like a sauce that needs a little extra pinch of something...any suggestions?  I was aiming for a blues song.

Apologies for the word 'bastard'.  I don't really consider it a curse word, but some people do, and that's okay. The word seemed to fit within the context of the piece and that's why it is in there.

Your challenge this weekend is to give us 33 words about anything you want.  Your piece must include at least one hyphenated compound modifier.  Remember that the hyphen will join your two words together to create one, so you will have a bit more wiggle room with your word count and language.  You are free to use more than one hyphenated modifier in your post, but we ask that you be careful not to sacrifice readability in the process.

    1. Good for you. As for me, thank goodness there's only 26 letters in the alphabet!

  2. Ouch! And with his own hammer too. I love this! It definitely has a bluesy feel, but maybe exchanging laughter for drowning sorrows with whiskey would seal the deal? Of course, then you'd be over the 33 word limit!

  5. I don't think this needs a pinch of anything. She killed the bastard with his favorite hammer and laughed about it. What more could you add? Well done! :)

  7. I like it. There is something poetic about smashing his head with his favorite hammer.

  8. Took him by surprise I guess. Now is she going to dress him up and put him in a chair or dump him along a lonely highway.

  9. Great fun, this was. Some folks don't like the word "bitch", some don't like the word "bastard". I consider them tame, generic, words for female or male, strong-willed person, who may or may not be a jerk.
