The school was renovated and got a total face lift, but there is one side and door that they didn't change, and it was the door we waited outside of for school to start. I loved that the one detail never changed. Everything always seems so much more diminutive than in our memories, not only because we ourselves were smaller back then, but because our mind enlarges those memories over the years until they are bigger than life. Reality always crashes down upon us if we try to revisit. Very well written.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1079589059457212218.post-25509497985064742722013-08-22T11:34:17.541-05:002013-08-22T11:34:17.541-05:00Memories are powerful, sometimes it surprises me t...Memories are powerful, sometimes it surprises me that they can't pull us back in time...Natalie DeYounghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16906680301422288990noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1079589059457212218.post-87383569833588730402013-08-22T00:42:49.081-05:002013-08-22T00:42:49.081-05:00The schools where I went to my early grades, and t...The schools where I went to my early grades, and the same ones my father went to, are now gone. Replaced by new schools that are sort of old in their own right. I was trying to describe them to my kid the other day and memories of that time came pouring back. But you're right, I can't go back. Especially since those places don't even exist anymore.Kenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17697779460254600164noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1079589059457212218.post-38155220792332388642013-08-21T19:12:35.316-05:002013-08-21T19:12:35.316-05:00Haha!
